Last year, our incredible Ambassador Families raised $20,318 to support the mission of First Act Theatre Arts! And over the last four years, these families have been integral to the success of every Cocktails & Cabaret. And now it’s your turn!
We are currently seeking nominations for our 2026 Class of Ambassadors. With a 100% success rate, we are sure that your family would be a perfect fit for this opportunity! Whether you have current students in the program or are an alumni family, we are open to any and all nominations.
A First Act Ambassador Family has a passion for the mission and values of our organization. Every year, a group of these families raise funds towards our annual gala, Cocktails & Cabaret. Each family will set their own goal for fundraising and we are encouraging at least a $1000 goal that includes monetary donations, silent auction items & sponsorships.
There is no previous fundraising experience required! We have had a 100% success rate with every ambassador family reaching and exceeding their goal. We encourage you to fill out the interest form even if you’re not quite sure you’re ready to commit yet! Also, if you have another family you’d like to nominate, you can do that on the interest form as well.
Every year, the Ambassador Family that raises the most money is crowned our “Ambassador of the Year.” In 2025, that was the Huenefeldt family! Read more below about Melissa and Shawn’s thoughts on the Ambassador process, and why they would recommend it!
First Act has become such a special part of our family’s story. We’ve watched Sophia and Helen blossom through every rehearsal and performance – learning to take risks, work hard, and lift each other up. Saying yes to being a First Act Ambassador Family was an easy decision; it’s a chance to celebrate the growth we’ve seen and the community that makes it possible.
We’d be lying if we didn’t say “winning” first! 😃 But beyond that, our favorite part was the friendships and community that grew among the Ambassador Families. Everyone showed up for each other’s fundraisers and cheered one another on every step of the way. It really captured what First Act is all about: connection, creativity, and support!
Don’t stress about the fundraising goal – it will come together! You’ll be amazed by who steps up once they see your excitement and your kids’ joy in being part of First Act. Have fun and get creative: try bingo nights, trivia, music bingo, or anything that brings people together. Share videos of your kids along the way – people love seeing their personalities shine, and that genuine enthusiasm inspires others to join in. Afterall, they are theatre kids! 😊
