With musical theatre, drama, tech theatre, improv, and more, there’s a day camp for everyone! Explore the different types of camps we offer, and find the perfect fit for you!
Our half-day camps offer a great introduction to theatrical performance! Campers will enjoy a fun-filled week exploring the world of theatre, putting together a performance featuring songs from movies and Broadway shows, playing games, crafting, making friends and more!
2023 Half-Day Camp: Broadway Time Machine, Jr.
These high-energy day camps give students the chance to act, sing, and dance their way through a 30-minute or 1-hour adaptation of one of their favorite shows in just one week! Auditions for lead roles are optional, and all campers will be fully involved in this high-energy performance!

A Full Show in One Week?
Yes! These camps give students the opportunity to learn, rehearse, and perform or tech a full Broadway-style show in just one week!
Campers will spend five days rehearsing on the campus of MidAmerica Nazarene University to put together a full mainstage production, which they will perform at the end of the week!
2023 Show: Footloose: Youth Edition
2023 Dates: July 24-28 with performances July 28 & 29
Our intensive High School Drama Camp extended day camp is held at the First Act Studios and gives older students the opportunity to prepare a fully staged, full-length play in just a week, culminating in two performances. Students can act in the show in the Performance Section. Its partner section, Behind the Scenes teaches students about backstage roles. They’ll work on the costumes, sets, props, tech, and more for the show!
*Campers may be 19 if they have just graduated high school in Spring of 2023

This camp is held on the beautiful campus of MidAmerica Nazarene University! We get to rehearse and perform on the exquisite stage of the Bell Cultural Events Center! High School campers will spend six days working to put on a full mainstage production!
*Campers may be 19 if they have just graduated high school in the spring of 2023.

Let’s stay accountable together this summer by participating in the First Act Dance Studio’s Summer Dance Session! Offered on Mondays and Wednesdays over a 6-week period (June 5-12), these one-hour classes will range from beginner to advanced dance classes. There is something for everyone! Classes are available for ages 10-18.
We hope you will all make plans to dance this summer with First Act!
Keep your acting and/or vocal skills sharp this summer with private lessons. This summer package cannot be beat! Private lessons in and around the KC area range between $35-$45 per 30 minutes and we have them just for YOU for only $25! You will NOT get this type of deal anywhere else!
Students will work with one of our master levels acting and/or vocal instructors in a private setting. Each student will be contacted by either our Acting or Vocal Studio Directors to schedule lessons.
Tuition: $150 | Ages 12-18 | Limit 10 students per studio
Six 30-minute lessons to be used between June 5-August 11, 2023.
Lessons can be taught in person or via Zoom. All lessons must be used by August 11th.
*First Act tuition credits cannot be used for this summer offering
* Due to the nature of summer schedules, students may work with more than one private instructor over the course of the summer.
* There are no refunds. If a student misses a lesson without no prior communication, that lesson will not be made up or credited.
