Daytime Academy is a homeschool theater program for ages 5-14 in the Kansas City Area. This KC metro homeschool theater program in Overland Park helps students develop acting, dancing, and singing skills while making new friends!
Students will work together to rehearse and perform scenes and songs from Frozen KIDS, exploring character development, stage presence, and teamwork in a fun, engaging, and immersive environment. Memorization and rehearsal are part of the experience, but the focus is on creativity, collaboration, and enjoying the magic of live theatre. The semester wraps up with an exciting showcase where campers will perform the full stage adaptation for friends and family.
All About Frozen Kids:
Do you want to build a snowman? Designed for elementary school students, Frozen KIDS is a 30-minute adaptation of the musical and movie we know and love. Join Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven, and all of your favorite characters as they embark on an epic, ice-filled journey of self-discovery, camaraderie, and the real meaning of true love. Adapted for young performers, this musical includes favorite Frozen songs such as “Love Is an Open Door,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” and “Let It Go,” as well as wonderful new songs from the Broadway production. Arts education is an essential part of a well rounded homeschool curriculum. By developing their skills in acting, singing, and dancing, performers grow their socio-emotional skills while having fun with their peers! Daytime Academy students will build confidence and self esteem, develop teamwork and collaboration skills, and foster community and friendships, all while portraying characters from this Disney classic!

We encourage comfortable dance and play-friendly clothing for each class. Please encourage your kids to wear shoes with a back of some kind (please no flip flops). Tennis shoes are preferred.

Students should bring a water bottle, a healthy snack, and any other materials requested by the teacher.

We encourage a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere where kids will meet new friends. With plenty of new faces and small class sizes, students quickly feel like they belong and have the opportunity to make friends right away.

4+ Classes – $100 Off
Daytime Academy and Private Acting and Vocal Lessons are excluded from this discount. Discounts will be automatically applied when you enroll online.
While we think our tuition is a great value, we understand that it can be a daunting amount, especially for families that have multiple children in the program. What is your cancellation/refund policy?

You may drop a class through the first week of the class session and receive a refund minus a $25 processing fee. After the conclusion of the first class week, no refunds will be given.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer any credits/refunds/make-ups/pro-rated fees for missed days of classes.

No. First Act Theatre Arts holds to Christian values of family, community, leadership, and positive encouragement. We welcome all kids of varying faiths, backgrounds, and beliefs.

First Act Theatre Arts openly welcomes children with disabilities. Further, First Act proudly offers our HEART program (Helping to Encourage Awareness and Recognition in Theatre). Please let us know what we can do to help! Before classes begin, you will want to fill out the HEART application and support form. First Act will work with you to assist your child. Please give us as much information as possible so we can make your child’s experience successful.
