What theater classes are good for preschoolers?

Theater classes for preschoolers should focus on exploration and play through the performing arts! Classes like Mommy & Me allow students to explore basic music and dance skills in a fun environment alongside a trusted adult. Our Young Mover Dance Classes introduce basic dance terminology and prepare students for their first performance.

What can preschoolers learn in performing arts classes?

When preschoolers are in performing arts classes, they are establishing their creative foundation. Through music and dance, they increase bodily awareness and develop motor skills. In our preschool theater classes, students often dance and sing alongside their peers for the very first time, and they make new friends along the way!

What is a good age to start theater?

Preschool is a great time to start exploring theater and the performing arts. Whether attending performances or enrolling in a class, preschool students can benefit from learning about music and dance. Music and dance classes for preschoolers improve motor skills and listening skills, and through exploration and play set students up with a great creative foundation.

What happens at theater class?

First and foremost, we have a ton of fun at theater classes!

Students develop their acting, singing, and dancing skills in classes with experienced professionals.

We have beginner level classes for students of all ages as well as intermediate and advanced classes for our older students.

We also have options for students to explore the tech side of theater through our Apprenticeship Program.

What if my child doesn’t know anyone?

We encourage a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere where kids will meet new friends. With plenty of new faces and small class sizes, students quickly feel like they belong and have the opportunity to make friends right away.

2 Classes – $50 Off

3 Classes – $75 Off

4+ Classes – $100 Off

Daytime Academy and Private Acting and Vocal Lessons are excluded from this discount. Discounts will be automatically applied when you enroll online.

While we think our tuition is a great value, we understand that it can be a daunting amount, especially for families that have multiple children in the program. Can I apply for a scholarship for classes?

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

You may drop a class through the first week of the class session and receive a refund minus a $25 processing fee. After the conclusion of the first class week, no refunds will be given.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer any credits/refunds/make-ups/pro-rated fees for missed days of class. 

Private Lessons can be made up at the instructor’s discretion.

Do you have to be a Christian to come to First Act?

No. First Act Theatre Arts holds to Christian values of family, community, leadership, and positive encouragement. We welcome all kids of varying faiths, backgrounds, and beliefs.

What if my child has a disability?

First Act Theatre Arts openly welcomes children with disabilities. Further, First Act proudly offers our HEART program (Helping to Encourage Awareness and Recognition in Theatre). Please let us know what we can do to help!  Before classes begin, you will want to fill out the HEART application and support form. First Act will work with you to assist your child.  Please give us as much information as possible so we can make your child’s experience successful.
