Ever since Charles Addams first sketched this wonderfully oddball family in the 1930s, The Addams Family has captured the imagination of audiences everywhere. They’ve crept, crawled, and cackled their way from the pages of The New Yorker to television screens, animated adventures, movies, and now the stage, becoming one of the most beloved (and bizarre) families in pop culture. There’s just something about their world that draws us in: the flickering candlelight, the ominous organ music, the dark humor, and, of course, the undeniable love that holds this spooky bunch together.
From Gomez’s passionate declarations and Morticia’s mysterious poise to Wednesday’s wicked wit and Uncle Fester’s glowing enthusiasm (literally!), The Addams Family reminds us that family doesn’t have to look or act a certain way to be filled with love. They celebrate their uniqueness, embrace each other’s quirks, and find joy in the macabre,a strangely beautiful message for all of us in a world that often pressures people to “fit in.”
And that’s really what this story is about: family, honesty, and the ties that bind us together. Beneath the gothic charm and quirky humor lies a powerful message about acceptance, understanding, and celebrating the people we love for exactly who they are.
Our cast has worked incredibly hard to bring this world to life, balancing comedy, choreography, and character work with the energy and heart that make educational theatre so special. From the first rehearsal to the final bow, their enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork have been inspiring to watch. They’ve embraced every challenge with courage, every scene with imagination, and every rehearsal with a sense of fun that would make even Wednesday smile (just a little).
Behind the scenes, our creative team has poured endless care into crafting this production, from the hauntingly beautiful music to the bold choreography, clever staging, and delightfully creepy details. To our parent volunteers: your countless hours helping with costumes, makeup, sets, props, transportation, and support make all of this possible. You are the unsung heroes of every production, and we could not do it without you.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the incredible First Act Leadership Staff and Board. Their dedication to nurturing young artists, building confidence, and creating opportunities for creative expression continues to make a lasting impact on every student who steps onto our stage.
And finally, to you,our audience, thank you for joining us and supporting these talented young performers. Every clap, laugh, and “snap snap” means the world to them. By being here tonight, you become part of this story too, a story about family, love, and celebrating what makes each of us unique.
So, dim the lights, cue the thunder, and get ready to visit the delightfully dark and completely lovable world of The Addams Family!
