In 1954, White Christmas was the number one movie in America, and it still delights audiences to this day! The vibrant technicolor and gorgeous jazz musical numbers are enough to keep me coming back every year. We are so excited to bring this classic story to the First Act stage for the first time ever!
While this show is a Christmas classic, it’s fitting that Thanksgiving is quickly approaching. White Christmas centers around how we show our gratitude for others. Often, I find it hard to express my gratitude in words, “thank you” falls short of what I hope to express. What I’ve found though, is that when we show up for one another, that’s how we pay it forward, and truly express gratitude. Throughout our show, you’ll see how these characters show up for one another, in both big and small ways. In times like these, we can learn from their examples, and show up!
Today, you’ve done that! You’ve come to a show, maybe because you know one of these talented young artists, maybe a friend invited you, or maybe you just love White Christmas! With your presence today, you are showing you care about local arts organizations and their success.
Even though words fall short, I want to thank the incredible White Christmas team for their work on this show and more importantly, their passion and care for the students involved. Thank you to every parent who gave their time to bring this show to life! And lastly, thank you to this cast who amaze me at every turn.
